New version of XBMC is excellent!

I just downloaded the latest version of XBMC and I am surprised by the new features.
If you have a "special" xbox it would merit the time to find and install the latest build.

Just in case you are having trouble playing some of the video content on itunes (diggnation and other podcasts use files with the .m4v extension) and XBMC does not recognize these files. But I found the fix on the revision3.com website.

Here's the gist (copy and pasted for you):

With XBMC you can add .m4v to your xbmc xml so it will pick them up.

Open up your xbmc.xml and fine this line:

.3gp|.nsv|.ts|.ty|.strm|.rm|.rmvb|.m3u|.ifo|.mov|.qt|.divx|.xvid|.bivx|.vob|.nrg|.img|.iso|.pva|.wmv|.asf|.asx|.ogm|.m2v|.avi|.bin|.dat|.mpg|.mpeg|.mp4|.mkv|.avc|.vp3|.svq3|.nuv|.viv|.dv|.fli|.rar|.001|.wpl|.zip

and change it to:

.m4v|.3gp|.nsv|.ts|.ty|.strm|.rm|.rmvb|.m3u|.ifo|.mov|.qt|.divx|.xvid|.bivx|.vob|.nrg|.img|.iso|.pva|.wmv|.asf|.asx|.ogm|.m2v|.avi|.bin|.dat|.mpg|.mpeg|.mp4|.mkv|.avc|.vp3|.svq3|.nuv|.viv|.dv|.fli|.rar|.001|.wpl|.zip

that will make the m4vs come up in my videos.

Results? .m4v files are visible on XBMC. Sweet.

as I lie me down to sleep

I'm thinking about my day. I should have woken earlier than I did, and I should have read my Bible.
I pulled a lot of weeds today, but I should have pulled more. Ocho stayed outside with me for a little while
but then got smart and asked if he could go inside where it was a bit cooler.
Tarps I put above my head with ropes to shield me from the sun. As I worked I listened to the Twit (this week in technology)
podcasts). I listened with great interest about corruptable treasures, and showed no interest at all in the treasures that will
survive the destruction of this present world.

2 Peter 3:7-11

But the
heavens and
the earth,
which are
now, by the
same word are
kept in store,
reserved unto
fire against the
day of
judgment and
perdition of
ungodly men.
But, beloved,
be not
ignorant of
this one thing,
that one day
is with the
Lord as a
thousand
years,and a
thousand
years as one
day.
The Lord is
not slack
concerning his
promise,as
some men
count
slackness; but
is longsuffering
to us-ward,
not willing that
any should
perish, but
that all should
come to
repentance.
But the day of
the Lord will
come as a
thief in the
night; in the
which the
heavens shall
pass away
with a great
noise, and the
elements shall
melt with
fervent heat,
the earth also
and the works
that are
there in shall
be burned up.
Seeing then
that all these
things shall be
dissolved,
what manner
of persons
ought ye to
be in all holy
conversation
and godliness

in my hand

I hold a little computer in my hand. Little keys on a screen I press without a plan. What I write is to be seen by eyes of God and man.

My Cassiopeia e-125 is connected to my wireless internet connection. This truly is portable computing. Pretty cool.

Still here

I'm still here. Ocho is snoozing by my side, Jon Courson is speaking on hell from my Xbox, Stephanie is surfing at her computer. The Pope died yesterday, Terri Shiavo died (or, was murdered via starvation) last Thursday, and the Friday before that we remembered Jesus' death by crucifixion.

Interesting thought that each one of us are bound together by this common thread called death. Ocho (my poodle) will one day be a stiff lifeless furball, my wife will one day breathe her last breath, and the fingers I am currently using will one day lie still, cold and gray, food for worms.

Of course, while it is true that even Jesus died, he is completely set apart from any other person who has ever lived, in that he rose from the dead. Now it is true that others have risen from the dead throughout history (read your Bible) but Jesus rose completely victorious over death, and because he lives, we too can have eternal life.
