Why is that we have trouble hearing those we love the most?
For instance, my wife was just talking to me and telling me about something Barbara Boxer is doing to try and lower the risk of forest fires in California. (I know she'll read this -- "Hi, Baby.") I tried to listen real hard to what she was saying, and I got the gist of it [B.Boxer just might be doing something RIGHT for a change.] (As if I follow politics close enough to scrutinize her job performance. Ok, I admit it - I listen to Michael Savage once in while. It's been quite a long time since I have, though. Michael mentions Barbara B. once in awhile.)
Back to my point - WHY is it that it takes so much effort for me to listen to those I love most? Is it that I begin to take my loved ones for granted? Must be. Why is it so hard to listen to God's voice? Hmmm. Ouch. That isn't too difficult. T I M E. How much time do I take to seek him. How much time do I spend, JUST LISTENING.
But it's so hard to find the time to seek God, to read His word, to listen for His voice. And I am SO busy with school and homework and...
We find time to do the things that are the most important things for us to do, or at least, the things that we WANT to do badly enough to MAKE the time.
Mental note to self: Self, why are you so dumb? No, that's not it!! Self, make some better CHOICES on how you spend your TIME. (And stop whatever your doing when your wife is talking to you, and don't THINK about what you would like to be doing while your wife is talking to you.)
Hey, did you hear that besides elevating your mind and heart, humming may clear your sinuses as well?
hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmmm hmmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm, hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmm hmmm, hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmm. (Humming to tune of "Oh what a beautiful morning")
OK, here is something worth listening to

Seems as if the online broadcast is not online right now. If you live in Southern California I envy you because you can hear it on your radio. The radio is so much better than the internet when you want to listen to the radio. I know there are more choices on the net, but I would rather keep my radio if I had to choose (unless I had DSL. I would give away my radio for DSL. I would give away my dog for DSL. NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just kidding.)
Here is another great link to listen to some great Bible teaching:

Unfortunately there internet audio feed is down also. I think they're on the same computer or something. Probably running Macs, right? Oh, no, here come the flames. The wrath of Jobs. (Get it?) No ~ Macs aren't that bad, unless you want to run a non mac written program, I mean, anything less than native software seems to crash those things. But aren't they the coolest looking computers around? Even the really old ones just look really nice. Of course the older ones aren't good for much anymore except a home for your fish, right? MACAQUARIUM That reminds me about the Amiga 2500 & 4000 I have in the "office," why is the world did I bring those home? They were so happy collecting dust at my parent's house. What in the world am I going to do with those old boxes of silicon? I'm sure they aren't water tight. While we're on this subject, anybody interested in late model Commodore 64 (with the upgraded, sleeker case?) Now there is a clue for why I am having so much trouble in my algebra class. It just doesn't add up. Then again, the stuff I am collecting DOES add up. I need a bigger house so I can collect some more useless computers. They work fine, mind you. I mean, they do exactly what they were designed to do. But my thinkpad does just a few more things and does them more easily. You would not believe what a pain it is to web surf on the Amiga 4000 (wooohooo! 256 colors!!!) I might as well surf on my palm. Believe me, I tried once. Well, no that was worse. Anybody interested in a Palm V modem. Used just once. OH THE HORROR OF IT ALL. And there are people in Africa who are starving. There really are. It's not just something that your mother told you to get you to eat your lima beans.
OK. Raise your hand if you like lima beans. YUCK!
But I bet there are people in Africa that would love to eat them
It really is a terrible situation with the AIDS epidemic and how so many of the mothers and fathers are dying of AIDS and leaving behind the very young and the very elderly.
This world is sick. Jesus, please help us.
I am listening to Pastor Joe Focht from Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia. Very good teaching about the Holy Spirit. You can too -->

OK. I better go now. May the Lord bless you!

There is a new movie coming out starring Matt Damon and some other guy who both play siamese twins. Amazing. Shocking. True? "Stuck On You" will be coming to a theatre near you. It looks funny. Will I see it? Maybe. Maybe not. (I have not yet decided if I want to contribute to the Matt Damon Kid's College Fund.)
It's late, I'm tired, I have anatomy class in the morning. Good night.
Actually I would love to stay up longer. I love staying up late. BAD! BAD BOY! YOU GO SLEEP NOW!
I don't want to go to bed, still I am a sleepy head
If I stay up much longer, my brain tomorrow won't be stronger
Will one more hour be much wrong'r?
Strong caffeine still floweth lively
And my eyes are not yet blindly
Still the bed it beckons me, just shut off that darn TV!
Alrighty then. G'nite matey.
